Code of Conduct and Rules
These rules have been established so that Panthers fans of all ages can enjoy these message boards and be a part of the Carolina Panthers online community. Please treat your fellow fans and message board users with respect.
- Debate and opinion are a natural part of message boards, but we will not tolerate abusive speech, harassment, personal attacks, inflammatory posts or misinformation in the title or body of any thread and in any form.
- We do not allow posts regarding ***ual orientation, or posts that contain ***ual lewdness or vulgarities,
- Do not create posts that contain messages calling for injury to players or members, or advocate illegal activity.
- Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
- To avoid arguments, do not post about politics or religion. This message board is about the Carolina Panthers. We reserve the right to remove posts we deem offensive or against the rules without notice.
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts. If you accidentally double post, please take a moment to delete the extra post by clicking on "Edit".
This forum is equipped with a word censor to prevent profanity and spam. Please do not look for creative ways to curse.
Product advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members. If you receive PM spam, please email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. Please do not create an account name that is an exact match of a player name. Example: The username "Steve Smith" is not allowed. Smitty95 would be allowed however.
The Panthers.com team shall be the sole mediator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
Name calling is abusive, but discussing or deriding an opinion is not. You can call an opinion idiotic, but you cannot call a community member an idiot. If you respond to abuse with abuse, you lose your right to moderator intervention.
While we expect to have some criticism of the Panthers, we will not tolerate blatant attacks towards members of the team, front office or any staff members. You may attack the actions or decisions of individuals, but do not attack the individuals themselves. We will not tolerate anything we believe crosses the line between criticism and abusive language. The Ownership, Coaching, Player, and Staff, should be accorded the same respect that the posters on the forum are accorded. You may attack the actions or decisions of individuals, but do not attack the individuals themselves.
One line TYPING ENTIRELY IN ALL CAPS is considered shouting and is frowned on in most cases. Excessive shouting will be deleted. Repeated offenses could lead to being banned from the forum.
Basic Thread and Signature Guidelines:
One responsibility of a moderator is to ensure that the message board does not become too cluttered.
When you start a new thread, please think about which section it belongs in. If a moderator feels a thread is posted in the wrong section, the thread will be moved to the correct location.
If there are threads that are very similar in nature, a moderator may merge the thread. This will sometimes give off the appearance that the tread has been deleted, but it just exists somewhere else on the message boards.
Unfortunately, vBulletin does not provide a way to automatically link you to where your thread was merged. If your thread has vanished and was not in violation of forum rules, look for a longer thread with the same subject matter.
It's likely you'll find your posts there. You can also locate it by clicking on the post in your own file of posts by clicking on your name and clicking on "Find all posts".
All signatures must be in good taste and not impede the flow of the forums. If your signature is too large we may remove it without notice. Animated images in Signatures are not allowed. Advertising in Signatures is also prohibited. (See Advertising and Spamming) 1 image up to 450 pixels wide, 200 pixels tall. Animated images in Signatures are not allowed.
We reserve the right to take punitive action, up to and including permanent suspension of account, against any member who does not abide by the forum rules. While suspension is a last-resort for members we deem are refusing to abide by the rules, we reserve the right to suspend trolls or new members without warning if we believe their intent is to troll or in some other way willfully break forum rules.
Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time, without notice. Any and all rule changes will be posted, and all members are expected to abide by any and all rule-changes from the moment those rule-changes are posted. It is the responsibility of the member to read announcements and abide by the forum rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse
